DAY TRIPS - VERMONT VACATIONS

Killington, Vermont - someone asked... why Killington... there's nothing to do there in the summer... BOY were they wrong!

For a couple getaway or for a family friendly excursion, KILLINGTON is our choice for an ACTIVE day trip or weekend getaway.  Come here if you want to have a blast losing five pounds!

GET A DAY PASS

Killington's Pico MT, has the "BUNGEE THING" a trampoline that will take your breath away  - I jumped and did my first double back flip!  It was so fun. Yet while the 4 year olds jumped for 5 minutes, I believe I only lasted 1 minute and 16 seconds.  Get there early and SIGN up or you will miss this fun event.

I think the favorite of all was the PICO Slide.  I saw a lot of families with little ones just 3 years old and older and the kids loved it!  One little girl was screaming in delight for about five minutes after the ride she was so thrilled by the speed and the trip!

I love water rides and Killington had AWESOME water slides... unlike most water parks, the water WASN'T freezing it was actually heated.  That was a real treat.  The rock climbing and skate park were also included in the one day pass fee.  Many kids and adults were enjoying Killington's peaks with the mountain biking.  Although we did not have time, we've done this at other resorts and it is a blast.  I would love to spend a week at Killington in the summer or fall just to hike, bike and mountain board.

For the energetic, kids and kids at heart - there was a lot to do at Killington.  For the less energetic, we found the Killington Golf Course to be challenging (obviously hilly), with amazing views.

We met up with another couple from Upstate New York, who told us about the "VERMONT GOLF PASS"  it allows you to golf at all the resorts for one $55 fee, all you have to pay for is the cart.  This is one deal we will be researching further.

After a day of watersliding, bungee-trampoline jumping, golf, waterslides, skate parks, and climbing walls we were starving.  We found just the place to eat.. the GRIST MILL.

We then set our sites on nearby Woodstock, it's a beautiful town with quaint shops, my favorite was the "Purple Eggplant" There, we found the highest quality "stuff" for your kitchen.  From the best magnets, to beautiful glassware and high tech cooking gear.
